Energy values after multimeter's outage (nightly hours)

- After a multimeter outage, the respected power values will be missing
for this specific time period. In the processes of calculating the energy by
integrating the respective power, IEC 61724 proposes to fill in missing values
using previous available values. Insolar follows this approach, but when the
missing values span a large time period the interpolation gives erroneous
results for the power and subsequently for the energy.
- It is true that if the cumulative energy was used to calculate the
daily energy, it may work more properly in some cases. However, this would not
be the case when the outage supersedes the day boundary, since there is no way
to know which part of the recorded cumulative energy corresponds to each
timestamp, so an error may anyhow occur.
-
For that reason, the IEC 61724 proposes to
calculate the daily energy through an integration of the power and not through
the cumulative energy.
