This procedure applies but not limited to the following devices:

  • Security Systems (DVRs. Cameras, Detectors)
  • Fire/Smoke Alarms
  • Inverters’ auxiliary Devices (such as webbox)

There are 3 possible cases in which you should contact us:

  • Request an IP address to be assigned to a device.
The response should be as follows:

    1. IP address,
    2. Subnet mask,
    3. Default gateway,
    4. Name server (DNS server)
  • Request for packets to be allowed through the firewall and/or be configured the appropriate port-forwarding(s), whenever this network lies behind a firewall and/or NAT (Network Address Translation) gateway.
You should inform us about the following in order for you to be able to access that device from outside the LAN:

    1. either the IP address of the device or some description that uniquely identifies it
    2. port(s) to which access should be allowed.

The response should be as follows:

    1. the FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name) or public IP address
    2. the port(s) that you should connect to access the device.

Optionally, you might specify the public port(s) you wish to be mapped to the (internal) port(s) of the device, in which case we might or might not grant you the specific request.

  • Request a combination of the above 2 steps:
    1. an IP address to be assigned to a device
    2. one or more ports of that device you wish to access from outside the LAN (and, optionally, the public ports(s) to be mapped to the ports of the device).

The response should be as follows:

    1. first : the IP address to be assigned to the device in the LAN
    2. second : the FQDN or public IP address
    3. third : the (public) port(s) that you should connect to access the device.
